Rachel was born in West Bloomfield, Michigan where she lived and performed in many community and school productions for 17 years. Her family and teachers knew they were in trouble when, at the age of 9, Rachel would choose a fairy tale, cast her peers in the different roles, then rewrite, direct and (of course) star in updated versions of the classic fairy tale stories.
At the age of 17, she decided to spend her last year of high school at the prestigious arts boarding school, The Interlochen Arts Academy. At the academy, Rachel performed in such shows as Snoopy, Merrily We Roll Along, and The Miracle Worker.
After graduating with honors from Interlochen, Rachel moved to Boston to attend The Boston Conservatory as a musical theatre major. There she had the opportunity to perform in numerous shows including, Eleemosynary (Echo), Wonderful Town (Helen), and Twelfth Night (Viola). Between shows at the Conservatory, she performed locally around Boston as well, playing the role of Kate Keller in The Miracle Worker at Harvard University, and as a Showgirl in Overture Production's production of Follies starring Len Cariou.
After graduation, Rachel moved to New York and has been a working actor there ever since. She has performed in a host of shows in New York and around the country including, Urinetown (Hope), Charlie Brown (Sally), Christmas Carol (Belle), and most recently as Logainne Schwartzandgrubienerre in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Rachel toured around the country in one of the biggest musicals of all time, Les Miserables and also in the show Laura Ingalls Wilder, Growing Up On the Prairie as Laura.
In addition to performing in musical theatre, Rachel is also an accomplished voiceover artist. She currently has national spots running for Huggies, Walmart, McDonald's, and 5 books on tape that are used to teach English to kids around the world.
Rachel is also known as "Miss Rachel" to hundreds of NYC children to whom she teaches ballet.
Rachel is represented theatrically by Craig Holzberg at The Avalon Artists Agency (NYC and LA), and for voice overs and commercials at Abrams Artists Agency (NYC). She is a member of Actors Equity Association, AFTRA, and SAG.
